Concrete Water Troughs provide a robust solution to ensure livestock have access to an adequate supply of good quality drinking water. This is crucial for animal welfare and to ensure this vital resource is plentiful to maximise productivity.
According to CAFRE, dairy cows require five litres of water for every litre of milk produced. As about half of the herd’s daily water requirement is consumed after each milking it is important to consider this when calculating trough capacity requirements in conjunction with water flow rates to meet this demand. Any restriction in water supply will affect milk yield.

Moore Concrete manufacture a comprehensive range of quality precast concrete Water Troughs also known as drinkers ranging from 15 Gallon (68 litres) to 500 Gallon (2270 litres). This range of sizes provides suitable water troughs for all livestock including sheep or any size of beef or dairy cattle.
Our concrete water trough range consists of a number of different designs including single and double concrete troughs creating solutions that are suitable for use in both external and internal settings across the farm.
Our range of Concrete Water Troughs are designed with animal safety as the priority. The internal and external rounded corners allow for comfort of use. This product provides a quality drinking facility that is durable and can withstand any movement by live stock.

Features & Specifications
Concrete Water Troughs are robust and durable, ensuring they retain their shape and will not be pushed around by livestock.
Curved profile designed for animal safety. With rounded corners both internally and externally, including the base, our water troughs are easily described as being bath-shaped.
Rounded corners enhance the strength of Water Troughs, especially against cracking during adverse weather. However, at low temperatures where water is liable to freeze, we would recommend troughs are fully drained to prevent damage.
Extensive range of water troughs are designed to be suitable for sheep and cattle of various sizes and herd requirements.
Easy draining as all water troughs have a 49mm rubber bung, positioned in the side wall. This allows for easy cleaning and transportation.
Extra Protection for Ballcocks which are mounted onto a plate which is fixed to the side of the trough.
Extra protection for Water Pipes as they are recessed in the back or top rim of troughs
Suited to both conventional and fast flow ballcocks.
Suited to any indoor or outdoor location, troughs can be easily moved to a different location using the correct lifting equipment.
Specifically designed In House Trough – 455L (100 Gallon) available. This curved narrow trough is designed to be positioned at the ends of cubicle runs.

Moore Concrete are delighted to announce the latest in their new innovative product development within the drinking trough range, a new Galvanised Lid. The new Galvanised lid applies to a range of our large drinkers including the 40G, 75G, 150G, 300G and 500G. A key benefit of our new Galvanised Lid is that it has a reduced weight, meaning that it is lighter and easier to handle. Moving forward the new Galvanised Lid will replace the concrete lid on the following troughs 40 gallon, 75 gallon, 150 gallon, 300 gallon and 500 gallon.
Concrete lids are supplied with 15G, 20G, 45G Concrete Troughs.
Due to their weight less time is required to fit and install concrete water troughs as they are able to sit under their own weight.
