Concrete Society Highly Commended Award 2018 for Sevenoaks School
While attending the NI regional Concrete Society dinner, we were proud to received a Highly Commended Award for the Sevenoaks School Project in Kent. These awards for outstanding merit in the use of concrete are great recognition for all the innovative hard work by the total Moore Concrete team.
The project was particularly challenging demanding with the Moore Concrete team involved at the intial in depth design stage. This included structural analysis, detailing of fixings and steel support bracketry. The scheme required the use of very thin profile roof panel (75mm), challenging our engineers to ensure structural performance, carrying roof loads over large spans at these minimal unit depths. In total of eighty variations across the two hundred and seventeen roof slabs were require in the manufacturing process, each requiring a exceptional level of finish.
ECOncrete Bio Active Wall Tiles Best in Show at the Landscape Show 2018
We were delighted to be voted Best In Show for our exhibit featuring ECOncrete®‘s Bio Active Wall Tiles, it is great endorsement of this innovative living wall technology.
ECOncrete Bio Active Wall Tiles provide a flexible green living wall solution to induce rapid plant wall coverage.
The physical and chemical properties of the tiles strongly influence the tiles capability to support and enhance natural growth.
There highly complex surface and porosity create moist niches that support flora without the need for complex soil systems.
This creates a natural, low maintenance green living wall solution.
The tiles can be used to create green spaces in urban areas, stylish water features or as feature green walls within garden settings.
Using a combination standard and planter tiles, planting can be included at initial installation.
We were delighted that Belfast landscape designer Linda McKeown, the driving force behind Blueleaf Garden Design, choose to include ECOncrete Bio Active Wall Tiles within her award winning ‘Enable Ireland Beyond Boundaries Garden’ at this year’s Bloom Garden Festival in Dublin. Her design caught the eye of the judges who by common consent, commented the Bio-Active vertical wall formed a stunning backdrop to the overall garden.
ECOncrete®’s partnership with Moore Concrete, as the exclusive Manufacturer & Distributor for the UK & Ireland, provides manufacturing expertise and local knowledge, from a company built on a strategy of continued investment and forward thinking over the last 40 years.
An in-house concrete laboratory headed by concrete specialists and geologists continuously tests ECOncrete®’s products, for durability, strength and safety.
