We are currently recruiting for a Concrete Finisher/Patcher to join our Finishing team. This role will report to and support the Concrete Finishing Team Leader. The purpose of this role is to smooth and finish precast concrete products, apply surface treatments, and correct any imperfections. A vacancy exists for an experienced concrete finisher although application from other suitable tradesmen (decorators/plasterers) will be considered.

Hours of work: Hours will be variable between 32 – 48 hours per week as needed. General hours of work will be Monday – Friday 08:00am to 17:00pm however flexibility to start at 06:00am or 07:00am, work overtime and/or Saturdays as necessary is essential.

Main Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Fill blowholes and smooth external edges to specified finish grades.
  • Ensure desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
  • Repair or replace damaged sections of precast concrete structures, involving replacement of reinforcing tools.
  • Clean and smooth chipped edges and stone rub to remove excess concrete.
  • Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete.
  • Waterproofing, damp-proofing, and restoring concrete surfaces.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or construction industry.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety at work.
  • Flexibility in working hours and strong adaptability skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork experience.
  • Willing to clean and maintain working area.
  • An understanding of both written and spoken English.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience working in precast concrete production.
  • Previous work experience in civil engineering related projects.
  • The ability to read technical/constructions drawings.
  • Experience with hand/air and power tools.
  • Counterbalance forklift licence or overhead crane licence.
  • CSR / First Aid /Fire Warden Training

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience working in precast concrete production.
  • Previous work experience in civil engineering related projects.
  • The ability to read technical/constructions drawings.
  • Experience with hand/air and power tools.
  • Counterbalance forklift licence or overhead crane licence.
  • CSR / First Aid /Fire Warden Training
