We are currently recruiting for a full time CAD Technician to join the growing Technical/Design team in using AutoCAD for new designs and amending existing technical drawings for reinforced concrete products and structures. The role will involve working closely with the Technical Manager on a variety of challenging and innovative projects. The role will also facilitate the opportunity to gain experience within other areas of the technical/design function, such as assisting with product quality requirements and concrete mix designs.
Hours of work: Standard hours of work Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm (40hrs per week).
Job responsibilities:
- Produce AutoCAD General Arrangement and Reinforced Concrete details, with associated reinforcement scheduling for precast products and projects.
- Maintaining project records.
- Liaising with the factory production teams.
- Contribute to the formulation of design concepts and approaches using CAD software packages and 3D modelling tools.
- Maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities.
- Provide mentoring for our apprentice members of staff and assist them to develop their CAD skills.
- Develop skills within 3D construction models using Revit software.
- Deliver and be accountable for work packages. Attend and contribute to company meetings as necessary.
- Adhere to Company Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies.
- Keep up to date technically and applying new knowledge to the job.
- Any other duties, within reason and capability, as agreed through consultation with the Technical Manager.
Essential Criteria:
- 3rd level degree or equivalent in a relative discipline.
- Experience with AutoCAD software and familiar with technical/construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Work and Excel.
- Capability to work in a busy office enviornment.
- Willingness to develop expertise in carrying out necessary tasks.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of knowledge of precast concrete structures.
- Knowledge or understanding of construction/manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge or understanding of BIM software would be beneficial.
