Since its formation in 1978, Moore Concrete Products Ltd has developed into a world class, quality focused, precast concrete manufacturer based outside Ballymena. The company is customer focus led, ensuring the continued evolution of our extensive product range, designed to meet the requirements of civil infrastructure, agriculture and building customers across the UK & Ireland.  We are now recruiting internally for a Training & Continuous Improvement Coordinator. The purpose of this role is to manage and coordinate all training and continuous improvement activities for Moore Concrete, liaising closely with other departments e.g., Production, Quality, HR etc to ensure best practices are implemented.

Hours of Work: Hours will be variable between 32 – 48 hours per week as needed. General hours of work will be Monday – Friday 08:00am to 17:00pm however flexibility to start at 6:00am or 7:00am, work overtime and/or Saturdays as necessary is essential

 

Responsibilities of the role:

  • To identify all training requirements using skills matrices and regular meetings with other managers.
  • To create and assure implementation of training plans for each department along with the relevant manager.
  • To ensure benchmark Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are available for all core tasks.
  • Assure optimum production times for all SOPs through workshop study and staff engagement exercises.
  • To ensure all staff are trained and validated to these SOPs and their roles.
  • To organise all training to ensure legal compliance, e.g., abrasive wheels, crane etc.
  • To coordinate and manage all apprentice training, creating pre-agreed training plans and assuring their application.
  • To forecast all future training requirements working closely with HR and Production Managers
  • To manage and coordinate all Continuous Improvement activities of Moore Concrete.
  • To assure effective use of the current lean daily management systems by Unit Leaders, Team Leaders and their operators.
  • Carry out regular lean audits to assure compliance and coach improvements with all staff
  • To set and agree housekeeping standards for the lean systems and assure compliance
  • To launch and manage Root Cause Analysis where necessary to resolve quality or production related problems.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience organising and conducting training events
  • Strong numerical and literacy skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Good time management, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a busy team.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • At least 1 years practical experience coordinating Training activities in an industrial manufacturing organisation
  • At least 1 years practical experience coordinating Continuous Improvement activities in an industrial manufacturing organisation.
