Finance Manager

Since its formation in 1978, Moore Concrete Products Ltd has developed into a world class, quality focused, precast concrete manufacturer based outside Ballymena. The company is customer focused, ensuring the continued evolution of our extensive product range, designed to meet the requirements of civil infrastructure, agriculture and building customers across the UK and Ireland.

Due to the growth of our business, we are now recruiting for a Finance Manager to join our team to provide strategic financial management.  The role will be focused on managing the financials for a major factory extension, our Civils Contract Costing and the implementation of a new ERP system as well as maintaining company accounts, preparation of financial statements and internal and external financial audits.

Hours of work: Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00 (40hrs per week).  Flexi time system allows hours to be worked between 7.30am and 6pm.

Job responsibilities:

• Improving profitability and ensuring sound financial management of the organisation and timely presentation of accurate, detailed information. This will include improving reporting systems for management accounts to be available ideally by working day 5.
• Manage the financials for a factory extension project including negotiation of bank loans and HP Finance.
• Manage the contract costs process, liaising with various departments to collate all revenues and costs involved in our civils projects. Feedback the results in a timely manner and agree actions to improve results.
• Design, test, and implement the new ERP (Infor) system alongside our internal team and provide the key point of contact for the Admin and Finance teams input to the new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) IT system for the business and ensure the new system is as efficient and effective as possible.
• Develop systems to provide suitable drill down mechanisms for financial control such as accounts by factory/contract/product line and the improvement of same.
• Chair finance meetings with Senior Management and Directors to improve financial results.
• To be fully conversant with new initiatives and legislation in all matters relating to financial management of the business and to advise Directors accordingly.
• To ensure the company complies with all taxation and other regulatory requirements.
• Lead and initiate liaison with auditors, grant agencies, business advisers and investors.
• Assist with other accounting projects, and any other duties within reason and capability as agreed by the Directors.

Essential Criteria:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent and ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• At least 5 years post qualification experience ideally in manufacturing or construction
• Significant experience at Financial Controller or Finance Manager Level
• Proven experience of preparing and presenting financial management accounts, reports and data with ability to provide sound reporting and insightful analysis and forecasting
• Strong business acumen and drive to contribute at strategic level of the organisation
• Sound working knowledge of accounting software systems.
• Ability to work with various departments within the company to encourage achievement of company goals.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience of working within a busy office environment.
• Experience of travelling for business purposes throughout the UK and ROI.
• Experience using ERP system such as Infor Syteline.
• Experience in meeting KPIs and targets.
