Product Technology

A LOCAL PRODUCT

We manufacture install and support our own plant from a local base in Co.Antrim. All concrete products are manufactured in our pre-cast factory and running gear including switchgear, PLC's and software running the plant is locally designed, manufactured and installed. We support the local economy and more importantly this provide accessible customer service. All regulations, permitting and health and safety regulations are observed to UK spec and with all necessary UK accreditation.

The basis of the digestor tanks comes from a precast panelled circular store. Partners Moore Concrete have manufactured and erected almost 300 such stores throughout UK and Ireland. Panelled tanks use only panels pored in a controlled factory environment under strict quality protocols.

Benefits of Danish development

Moore Biosystems own the technical know-how and expertise of biogas technology originally developed by European biogas specialists, Lundsby Bioenergi from Denmark. Lundsby have been in the biogas business since the beginning of the modern farm scale era.

Denmark is considered one of the classical biogas countries and a technology leader in developing a farm based biogas industry, driven by principles and a belief in renewables and efficiency. Unfortunately the economic conditions have not been supportive in Denmark and electric support mechanisms have not been sufficiently high to suitably incentivise the industry. In Denmark tariff incentives are around half of that of its neighbour, Germany. This makes the industry a tougher prospect but it has also resulted in the evolution of biogas plants designed to maximise efficiencies and minimise down time making it favourable for costumers of Moore Biosystems.

In Denmark important points of plant design:

  • Plant efficiency – plants must remove all inefficiencies to be sure of economic viability
  • Process stability – plants must minimise process down time and be biologically robust
  • Process versatility – plants must be capable of dealing with a wide range of biowaste products together with agricultural feedstocks
  • Heat utilisation – plants should be able to generate additional revenue by utilising the heat. In Denmark district heating systems are common.
