Moore Concrete are now looking to fill the following positions:
PRODUCTION PLANNER PP/01/12
To successfully coordinate the production processes that manufacture our agricultural and building product ranges and to ensure customer requirements are optimised while maintaining minimum stocks and ensuring an accurate stock valuation is obtained.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure raw material, work-in-progress and finished good stocks are kept to a minimum.
- Ensure products are available for customers in line with both average and seasonal demands.
- Liaise with the sales team & customers to agree achievable delivery dates for customers’ orders and ensure these are achieved.
- Ensure stocks are counted regularly so that the computer records are accurate and assist in the monthly stock valuation.
- Liaise with production to develop production plans for each system so that each process runs efficiently with minimum downtime and setup time.
- Communicate with despatch to allow orders to be despatched as soon as possible.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate competitive rates for raw materials and components in line with demands.
- Identify and implement improvements to production planning, purchasing and stock control procedures.
- Record and report product waste in a timely manner.
- Play a key role in the planning and completion of the year-end stock take.
- Providing cover/back-up for the non-standard production planner when required includingcoordinating the production processes that manufacture our non-standard product range.
- Fully train others in all aspects of the role to ensure adequate coverage of standard production planning during absence and holidays.
- Any other duties, within reason and capability, as agreed through consultation with the Projects Coordinator.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- A good level of Secondary education demonstrating high degrees of numeracy and literacy
- Excellent organisational skills and clear written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel
- Sound knowledge of business principles
- Willingness to contribute to the success of the company in this key role
The following qualifications are desirable:
- A business related degree or similar experience may be an advantage
- Experience in customer service
- Experience of stock control and valuation
- Experience of production scheduling for job and batch production
SALES ESTIMATOR SE/01/12
To work efficiently as part of the Sales Team Within Moore Concrete, striving to achieve the company’s vision statement.
Working within the Civils Estimating Department key duties include:
- Price precast enquiries from drawings and bar schedule.
- Follow up and convert tenders into orders as appropriate.
- Assess works required for particular contracts to ensure we can identify and offer value engineering.
- Liaise with clients/customers discussing and understanding their requirements and possible deadlines.
- Communicate with Sales Manager with regard to quantity take-offs.
- Logging projects and all the relevant information onto the CRM System.
- Providing accurate and adequate information to the production and purchasing teams.
Applicants ideally will have the following experience/background:
- Third level education or equivalent experience in a civil/structural engineering environment.
- Experience of estimating within a busy office.
- Good time management, interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a busy team.
- Ability to read drawings and bar schedules may be an advantage.
- Have sales experience and the ability to deal professionally with customers/clients
